Polarizing filter

Polarizing filters are used to reduce glare and reflections from shiny, non-metallic surfaces. They are indispensable for inspecting objects with highly reflective surfaces, such as glass bottles, plastic packaging, or polished metal parts. In quality control, they make it possible to see details that would otherwise be obscured by light reflections. Another specialized application is stress analysis (photoelasticity) in glass or transparent plastics to reveal material defects.

Mounting Options and Sizes

The polarizing filters are available in various formats for easy system integration:

  • Threaded sockets: Standard sizes from M13.25 to M105.
  • C-Mount: 25.4® version for direct camera mounting.
  • Slip mounts & unmounted: For flexible positioning in front of the lens or light source.
  • Special versions: High-temperature options for environments with extreme heat generation.

Polarization filter from Midopt

Neutral gray filters reduce the intensity of all wavelengths. This reduces the brightness of the image. This is useful if you can no longer ensure correct exposure with the camera settings. Depending on the strength of the filter, less or more light is transmitted.

Features of the filters

  • The filters are equipped with a rotating holder and a locking screw.
