Domino Cx350i | Large character printer
High-resolution large character printer for sustainable and efficient production lines
The Domino Cx350i is an innovative large character printer specifically designed for direct coding on porous materials such as cardboard and building materials. Using advanced drop-on-demand (DOD) piezo inkjet technology, the Cx350i produces crisp, long-lasting codes, barcodes and graphics - even at line speeds of over 100 m/min. Thanks to its environmentally friendly vegetable oil-based inks, easy integration into production lines and minimal maintenance, the Cx350i is the ideal solution for modern and sustainable production environments.
- Large character printing: Up to 65 mm print height per head with 300 dpi.
- High speed: Over 100 m/min for efficient lines.
- Flexible: print heads can be combined for larger areas.
- Environmentally friendly: vegetable oil-based inks, no label waste.
- Low maintenance: No compressed air required, refilling during operation.
Efficient large character coding of cardboard packaging
The Domino Cx350i offers a precise and environmentally friendly solution for the direct marking of packaging made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard and paper-based materials. Whether large shipping cartons, shelf-ready packaging or tray packaging - the Cx350i ensures precise and high-contrast markings. Brand logos, product batch information or machine-readable barcodes such as GS1-128 and GTIN-14 are printed in razor-sharp quality. The elimination of pre-printed labels reduces stock levels and waste, while the environmentally friendly vegetable oil-based inks promote sustainability.
Domino Cx350i brochureRobust labeling of building materials
The Domino Cx350i is the ideal solution for coding porous building materials such as fiberboard, plasterboard and similar materials. It delivers precise and abrasion-resistant markings directly onto the surface - ideal for product identification, serial numbers or batch data. The print quality remains consistent even at production speeds of over 100 m/min. The quick-drying inks adhere securely and guarantee long-lasting marking that remains legible even in harsh storage and transportation conditions.
Domino Cx350i brochureSeamless integration and intelligent production
The Cx350i can be flexibly integrated into any production line, whether for packaging or building materials. The print heads, which are available in different variants, can be mounted from above, below or on inclined surfaces to meet specific requirements. Thanks to comprehensive interfaces such as EtherNet/IP and Dynamark protocol, the printer is ideally suited for Industry 4.0 applications. With Domino QuickDesign solutions, print data can be automatically retrieved from MES and ERP systems, while the Domino Cloud enables real-time monitoring of printer performance to maximize production efficiency.

How drop-on-demand piezo inkjet technology works
The Domino Cx350i uses drop-on-demand piezo inkjet technology to print ink precisely and efficiently onto porous materials. The print heads contain piezoelectric crystals that are minimally deformed by electrical impulses. This deformation creates a controlled pressure in the ink channel, whereby a drop of ink is precisely ejected from the nozzle.
The technology works without contact, which means that the ink is shot directly onto the surface without touching the substrate. This ensures that even sensitive or uneven materials such as cardboard, corrugated cardboard or plasterboard can be printed on without any problems.
Resolution is achieved through precise control of drop speed and size, with horizontal resolution of up to 300 dpi. Vertical resolution is optimized to 150 dpi to ensure efficient ink consumption on large print areas. Each drop is precisely placed to ensure clear edges and high legibility of text and barcodes.
The technology does not require compressed air and works with vegetable oil-based inks that have been specially developed for fast drying and permanent adhesion. This makes the process not only precise, but also economical and environmentally friendly.
