Dome and Flatdome Lights

Dome lights produce an extremely diffuse light, similar to that of an overcast sky (“Cloudy Day”). They are the primary solution for eliminating distracting reflections (hotspots) on curved, reflective, or metallic surfaces and achieving uniform illumination.

Technical Scope

Our portfolio offers solutions for complex surface geometries:

• Designs: Classic hemispherical domes for maximum diffusivity, or innovative flat domes that achieve the same effect in a flat, space-saving design.
• Dimensions: Ranging from a compact 50 mm in diameter for small parts to large domes over 350 mm for inspecting entire assemblies.
• Camera aperture: Precisely calibrated apertures in the dome that allow the camera to see without interrupting the diffuse light field.
• Wavelengths: Available in white, red, blue, and infrared (IR), for example, to make markings visible under colored films.

Integration & Control

• Space-saving integration: In particular, the flat-dome models from our partners (e.g., Smart Vision Lights) provide diffused light even in extremely confined installation spaces.
• Intelligent control: Supports strobe mode for high-speed applications, controlled by integrated controllers that ensure a constant light output.
• Process reliability: High thermal stability of the LEDs (especially with Moritex) to prevent fluctuations in brightness during continuous operation in production.
• Connection standard: Industry-standard M12 connectors and rugged housings for reliable 24/7 operation.
