Coaxial lighting

Coaxial lighting systems reflect light via a semi-transparent mirror in a direction exactly parallel to the camera's optical axis. This technique is the only solution for uniformly illuminating reflective, flat surfaces, making the bottom of deep recesses visible, or precisely detecting scratches on high-gloss materials.

Technical Scope

Our product range includes high-precision coaxial systems for demanding optical inspection tasks:

• Precision optics: Use of high-quality beam splitters that minimize ghosting and ensure absolutely uniform light distribution across the entire field of view.
• Dimensions: Available in various sizes, with active light fields ranging from approximately 25 x 25 mm for microelectronic components to over 100 x 100 mm for large-area inspections.
• Wavelengths: Available in white, red, and blue as standard, as well as specialized infrared (IR) variants, for example, to read markings under reflective coatings.
• Thermal management: Optimized housing designs (particularly in the Moritex and SVL models) ensure efficient cooling of the LEDs, which guarantees consistent light output and color accuracy during continuous operation.

Integration & Control

• Built-in intelligence: Models with internal controllers support overdrive flash mode to achieve maximum brightness even on highly reflective surfaces.
• Compact design: Optimized housing geometries facilitate installation in machines where the lighting must be placed directly in front of the lens.
• System compatibility: Seamless integration into existing camera setups (e.g., via Basler ) for easy configuration of flash frequency and intensity.
