Ring lights

Ring lights are mounted concentrically around the lens. They provide uniform, frontal lighting that minimizes shadows and is ideal for standard inspections, optical character recognition (OCR), or assembly inspection.

Technical Scope

Our product range includes specialized designs for a wide variety of working distances and surfaces:

• Dimensions: Outer diameters ranging from a compact 30 mm for the smallest fields of view to over 200 mm for large-area illumination.
• Beam angle: Choose between direct (focused) illumination for longer distances and wide angles (low-angle) to highlight edges and surface textures.
• Optical options: Available with diffusers for soft light on reflective surfaces or with polarizing filters to prevent hotspots.
• Wavelengths: A broad spectrum ranging from UV through visible colors (white, red, blue, green) to infrared (IR).

Integration & Control

• Direct camera control: Certain models (e.g., Basler) allow brightness and flash duration to be controlled directly via the camera interface (SLP protocol).
• Integrated intelligence: Systems from Smart Vision Lights and DCM Sistemes use internal controllers (e.g., Multi-Drive or iBlueDrive) that automatically switch between steady light and overdrive flash modes.
• Mounting flexibility: A wide range of mounting options, including direct clamp mounting on the lens filter thread or via standardized mounting holes on the housing.
• Industry standard: Rugged design with M12 connectors and protection ratings up to IP67/IP69K for demanding environments.
