Neutral density filter (ND filter)
Neutral density filters, often simply referred to as gray filters, are used to reduce the amount of light entering the lens without altering the color reproduction or contrast of the image. They are indispensable in applications involving extremely high brightness, such as welding processes or in glass and metal melting. In photography and videography, they allow for longer shutter speeds or wider apertures (shallower depth of field) in bright lighting conditions to prevent overexposure or “camera bloom.”

The ND filters are available from stock in the following versions:
- Threaded sockets: Sizes from M13.25 to M105.
- C-mount: Standard size 25.4 mm for camera connections.
- Slip Mounts & Unmounted: For flexible integration.
- Custom solutions: Custom shapes, sizes, and densities are available upon request.

These filters use absorptive glass to evenly reduce light intensity. The optical density (OD) determines the degree of darkening.

Ni Series – Reflective Neutral Density Filters
These filters use a metallic coating to reduce light through reflection. They are particularly suitable for applications where high thermal stress on the filters needs to be avoided.
