The Imprimerie des Montagnes in La Chaux-de-Fonds, also known as IDM, renews its machine park with an RMGT 970 with coating unit, the first machine of its kind in Switzerland.
IDM has been successful in the watchmaking city for more than 20 years, during which time it has specialized in sophisticated commercial products such as catalogs for the watch industry. IDM has much in common with this important branch of industry, above all the pursuit of perfection and uncompromising quality. This requires passion, attention to detail, great know-how and a careful selection of the machines used.
The investment will replace a 50/70 format machine. An important decision criterion was to be able to accommodate a machine in A1+ format in the available space. This necessitated a very compact design. The purchase was also motivated by the fact that the A1+ format results in around 25% lower production costs compared to 70/100 machines, for example due to lower plate costs and lower energy consumption.
The RMGT 970 is the first machine of this type in Switzerland and will be installed in summer 2024. It is equipped with all automation options that enable fast and economical production. These include, for example, the bend-free panel clamp, which eliminates the need for folding, a semi-automatic panel changing system and "Smart Assist" technology. Touchscreen panels at the feeder and delivery and a large 55-inch display at the machine stand facilitate monitoring and operation.
