75 years of CHROMOS

The Swiss CHROMOS Group celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2021. What began in 1946 with the founding of a trading company for the Swiss printing industry is now an owner-managed group of companies in the 3rd generation with a focus on technology and solution consulting in a wide range of industries.

With its PRINTING, PACKAGING, FUJIFLM Photo, INDUSTRIAL and KELVA Web Cleaning divisions, the CHROMOS Group manages a portfolio of over 70 brands. These include well-known companies such as HP, FUJIFILM, Toppan, RMGT, Morchem, Domino, Basler and Universal Robots. An extensive service organization complements the sales areas with installation, support, maintenance and repair services for all the capital goods supported.

Initially focused on the graphics industry, the company's business activities expanded continuously: Today, the CHROMOS Group is not only represented in the packaging, food and beverage industries, but also in the pharmaceutical, photography, video and broadcasting industries and in institutions for education and research. The broad range of products and services includes customized total solutions with capital goods, consumables and services and underlines the transformation from a trading company to a technology and solutions consultant in complex production environments.

75 years of CHROMOS Group - Continuous innovation
Accounting in the founding year 1946.

As early as 1954, Chromos Grafische Maschinen GmbH was founded in Germany, marking the company's expansion abroad. Today, in addition to its headquarters in Switzerland, the CHROMOS Group has sales offices in Germany, Austria and Sweden, serving customers in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, the rest of Europe and all over the world, depending on the product area.

With courage and entrepreneurship, the company always adapted innovatively and proactively to technological and market developments and continuously expanded its product portfolio. In 1977, for example, Chromos Electronic AG was founded for electronic typesetting and image processing systems, and in 1994 the company took over the representation of the then revolutionary HP Indigo digital printing systems. In response to the growing need for industrial automation in a wide range of production environments, Chromos took over the distribution of high-speed camera systems in 2015, established the 3D printing division in 2018 and took the step into collaborative robotics in 2020.

The core values of the company's 75-year history are reflected in its special customer proximity, long-standing supplier partnerships and the continuous development of its employees. The CHROMOS Group also positions itself as an independent bridge builder between manufacturers and customers. Last but not least, it sees its 170 dedicated employees and their expertise as the decisive factor in creating added value for its customers.

The year 2021 is also a milestone in the family and company history: The 3rd generation of the founding family, Daniel and Christian Broglie, take over the majority of shares and thus shape the continuation of the success story for the coming decades.
