Sustainability + Responsibility
Sustainability and responsibility have always been an integral part of our corporate identity.
As a Swiss family-owned business, we think long-term and act with future generations in mind.
For us, sustainable and responsible conduct is not just a standalone program, but a mindset. It informs our decisions, shapes our collaboration with customers, suppliers, and employees, and guides the ongoing development of our company.
We are committed to the responsible use of resources, create an attractive work environment for our employees, and prioritize transparency, integrity, and reliable partnerships. At the same time, we invest in projects and initiatives that combine environmental, social, and economic responsibility.
Our commitment focuses on three key areas, in which we implement specific measures and continuously refine our activities.
We are committed to implementing measures to reduce emissions and energy consumption. At the same time, we are investing in resource-efficient processes and sustainable supply chains.
Our employees are the foundation of our success. We support their development, create a safe work environment, and are committed to equal opportunity, diversity, and long-term prospects.
Clear values and binding standards form the foundation of our actions. Transparency, integrity, and responsible business relationships build trust among customers, partners, and employees.
At CHROMOS, sustainability and responsibility are reflected not only in our principles and objectives, but above all in concrete actions. From energy-efficient facilities and recycling solutions to employee development and clear compliance standards, we implement targeted initiatives in all areas.
Environment
Responsibly Managed Locations
For us, sustainability begins with our own buildings. In recent years, we have made extensive investments in modernizing our facilities. Our headquarters in Dielsdorf and the GATE55 building in Glattbrugg have been optimized for energy efficiency. The focus was on conserving resources, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Examples of our measures:
- More than 1,000 solar panels at the Dielsdorf site generate more than 460,000 kWh per year
- CO₂-neutral heat supply through the use of waste heat from data centers, which saves approximately 100,000 liters of heating oil annually
- LED Retrofits and Ongoing Energy Efficiency Programs
- Promoting Electric Mobility
- Reducing Business Travel Through Digital Collaboration
- Significant reduction in the number of printers

Sustainability Along the Value Chain
We prefer to work with manufacturers who operate in accordance with recognized environmental and sustainability standards, pursue climate goals, and transparently document their progress. ESG criteria are systematically factored into our evaluation of our partners.
Our areas of focus:
- Sustainable and Transparent Supply Chains
- Collaboration with Certified Manufacturers
- ESG Assessment of Suppliers
- Promotion of resource-efficient technologies
- Sustainable logistics solutions throughout the entire supply chain
- A centralized waste management solution that consolidates different streams of recyclables and simplifies internal processes
Environmental Awareness in Everyday Work Life
Sustainability is evident not only in major investments but also in our day-to-day actions. For many years, we have been implementing measures that conserve resources and reduce our ecological footprint. These include consistently reducing our paper consumption, eliminating single-use tableware, and—wherever practical—using secondhand furniture and reusable materials. In addition, our garden has been landscaped entirely with native plant species.
