Highlights

  • Perfect readability: Produces razor-sharp, high-contrast codes (white on a dark background, black on a white background)—without any expensive additives in the material.
  • A massive speed boost: Prints QR codes up to 80% faster than the previous model.
  • Environmentally friendly: Ideal for modern, recyclable packaging (such as monofilms), as the laser does not damage the material and leaves the protective barrier completely intact.
  • Easy IT integration: Integrates seamlessly with your existing software (such as ERP or warehouse management systems).
  • Fits into any space: With over 50 flexible installation options and a laser head that rotates in all directions, the system can be accommodated even in the tightest production lines.
  • Ready for all standards: Effortlessly meets the strict guidelines of the pharmaceutical and food industries (such as end-to-end traceability and GS1 requirements).
  • Reliable and economical: Extremely low-maintenance and dust-protected (IP55)—the system operates entirely without the need for complex water or air cooling.

No risks: Test first, then invest

Since recyclable plastics and monofilms react very differently to laser radiation depending on their composition, we leave nothing to chance. At the Domino Laser Academy in Hamburg, experts meticulously analyze your specific substrate samples under real production conditions.

You will then receive a detailed lab report. This gives you absolute certainty in advance that you are choosing the best coding solution for your packaging—and saves you from having to conduct time-consuming tests in your own production facility, as well as unnecessary costs.

The highest standards for complete traceability

In highly regulated production environments, there is no room for compromise when it comes to coding. The Ux360i meets the most stringent international guidelines for track-and-trace applications right out of the box. Thanks to Domino’s extensive validation expertise in accordance with GAMP 5, compliance requirements such as EU GMP Annex 11 and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 are seamlessly supported.

In addition, as a GS1 Solution Partner, the system is ideally suited for modern identification formats such as the GS1 Digital Link. It processes serialization data, sequential numbering, and dynamic batch data with absolute reliability and machine-readability, even at the highest conveyor speeds.

How UV laser technology works

UV laser marking differs fundamentally from thermal processes. While traditional CO₂ lasers for organic materials such as cardboard, or fiber lasers for hard metals, rely on intense heat to engrave or melt materials, UV lasers use short-wavelength, high-energy light.

This process is known as cold marking. The UV light does not burn the marking into the surface, but triggers a purely photochemical reaction in the top layer of the material. The light rays react directly with the pigments present in the plastic, causing a permanent, high-contrast color change.

Since this process generates virtually no heat, the material’s structure remains completely intact. Even paper-thin films, delicate plastics, or modern, recyclable monomaterials are neither weakened nor perforated, ensuring that the packaging’s vital protective barrier remains fully intact. Furthermore, the wavelength of the UV light eliminates the need for expensive, laser-activated additives in the plastic.
