Corona pre-treatment
Corona surface treatment devices from Vetaphone are specially developed to optimize the surface tension of materials and thus ensure better adhesion of paints, coatings and adhesives.
Whether in the packaging, printing or plastics industry - these solutions improve product quality and increase the efficiency of production processes. extensive product range includes corona treatment devices for the printing, processing, laminating and extrusion industries as well as plasma surface treatment devices for special applications
Corona pre-treatment for converting
A high-quality corona is necessary to achieve a perfect laminating and printing result at the end of the production line. The use of Corona-Plus systems achieves perfect and long-lasting printing and laminating quality.

If the label is made of a plastic substrate, the ink tends to become unsightly because it cannot bond with the plastic. This problem occurs because the surface energy of the plastic is not sufficient to allow proper bonding. A high-quality corona treatment is therefore necessary to ensure the perfect print quality of the labels to be achieved at the end of the production line. The corona systems for Narrow Web ensure flawless and long-lasting quality printing.
BrochureCorona pre-treatment for extrusion
The use of a corona treatment system on blown or cast film extrusion lines is essential in order to achieve perfect surface tension before the subsequent processing step. Without pre-treatment, the extruded substrates will not allow any further processing due to their low surface tension.
BrochureCorona pre-treatment for coating
A coating system typically operates at very high speeds. The Vetaphone corona systems for coating lines are specially prepared for the demanding conditions of the coating process. The corona systems for coating feature pneumatically activated electrode assemblies that can be swung away to allow easy access for belt mounting. You can also specify a quick retract system to protect the electrode cartridge, which extends the life of the electrode.
iPlasma
In 95% of cases, corona treatment of a substrate is still the perfect way to improve surface adhesion.
However, in the remaining 5% of cases, corona treatment does not work due to the complex chemical composition of the substrate. In these cases, plasma treatment, or as we call it "iPlasma®", is required to achieve a secure bond. The difference is that corona treatment is carried out in ambient air, whereas iPlasma treatment requires a controlled environment and the use of a doping gas. This allows plasma to offer a different functionality to corona and provide a range of surface properties.
