WASP 4070 FX

The professional WASP 3D printer for flexible materials

The 4070 FX is a large-format 3D printer that is particularly popular in the medical sector for the production of implants. It is designed to precisely process flexible materials up to a hardness of 50 Shore A, such as TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). This specialized printer is a valuable tool for progress in medical technology, thanks to its accuracy and versatility in handling soft materials.

The WASP 4070 FX is a metal 3D printer equipped with non-deformable steel core belts and thermal and acoustic insulation. The active chamber temperature control system makes it possible to reach up to 70 °C, ensuring optimal processing of engineering thermoplastics while keeping the mechanics relatively cool.

In addition, the 4070 FX is equipped with new motor controls that make the printer much quieter and more precise. This is complemented by new, more powerful stepper motors that provide greater stability. The mechanics have also been improved with the introduction of new carbon fiber arms that halve the weight and a new laminated class 2B2 safety glass door that provides greater thermal stability within the print volume.

Materials

TPU, short for thermoplastic polyurethane, is characterized by its flexibility and durability, even at temperatures of up to 90 °C. In addition, this material has an attractive glossy surface that gives it an aesthetically pleasing appearance. This combination of high temperature resistance, flexibility and attractive gloss makes TPU a versatile and popular material in various application areas.

Polypropylene, PP for short, is a material that is certified for contact with the skin and is characterized by its mechanical and thermal resistance, even at temperatures of up to 100 °C. These properties make PP an ideal material for applications that require both high resilience and compatibility with the skin. Furthermore, its resistance to high temperatures offers an additional advantage in environments where heat resistance is required.
