The Cognex DataMan 280 Series barcode readers offer fast data capture, easy setup, and key Industry 4.0 features such as web browser connectivity and performance monitoring in a compact form factor. Designed to improve item tracking throughout the manufacturing and supply chain, the DataMan 280 is suitable for a wide range of challenging 1D, 2D and Direct Part Mark (DPM) coding applications.
The latest patented decoding algorithms and technologies read low-resolution codes, damaged codes and even QR codes. The DataMan 280 series from Cognex handles such difficult tasks with incredible speed, coping with very high cycle rates in manufacturing and supply chains. High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology enhances image quality and increases contrast so codes can be scanned reliably and faster, and achieves greater efficiency through wider coverage.

The modular hardware and software can be configured for any barcode reading requirement. Easily decodes difficult DPM codes on challenging surfaces of automotive parts and medical devices. Simultaneously reads multiple label-based barcodes on boxes and pallets, even behind reflective film.
HSLL (High-Speed Liquid Lens) technology enables automatic adjustment of the focal length without any mechanical parts. The Cognex DataMan 280 series can therefore handle high-speed and fluctuating applications with fewer cameras in less time.
DataMan 280, together with Cognex Edge Intelligence (EI), offers advanced Industry 4.0 features such as easy web browser connectivity, device management and performance monitoring. This allows the user to parameterize multiple devices simultaneously and extrapolate key performance metrics in minutes.
