Basler blaze Time-of-Flight 3D camera

Innovative 3D imaging for industrial applications

Experience the fascinating world of time-of-flight technology with the Basler ignite 3D camera. Discover precise real-time 3D images made possible by Sony's pioneering DepthVista™ sensor technology combined with integrated depth image processing.

Our industrial 3D camera, the Basler blaze, is based on the time-of-flight principle and has advanced laser components that operate in the near-infrared range (940 nm). The camera generates both 2D and 3D data in a single image using a multi-part imaging process. This data includes precise distance information, intensity information and confidence maps.

The Basler blaze impresses with VGA image quality, outstanding precision and remarkable accuracy, all at an extremely attractive price-performance ratio. The camera opens up a wide range of possibilities for various 3D vision applications in logistics and factory automation."

The Basler blaze is now also available with 850nm wavelength

This makes the blaze the ideal ToF camera

Thanks to its backside-illuminated (BSI) architecture, this modern CMOS sensor can better absorb incident light. In combination with Sony's own ToF pixel technology CAPD (Current Assisted Photonics Demodulation), a significantly higher accuracy of 3D depth data can be achieved compared to conventional ToF cameras.

Basler blaze Time-of-Flight 3D camera

The Basler blaze offers a large field of view (FOV 67° x 51°) and a flexible working distance of 0.3 m to a maximum of 10 m. This allows the camera to capture the depth data of even large objects and entire scenes at once and provide optimum support for pick-and-place applications, volume measurements and palletizing tasks in logistics and production environments.

The Basler blaze offers camera features for trouble-free synchronous operation of multiple ToF cameras in the same application, even if they are located in different networks. The use of multiple cameras may be required for capturing large objects or scenes as well as moving objects such as AGVs in a warehouse.

Colored 3D point clouds with the Basler blaze

Basler blaze Time-of-Flight 3D camera

3D point cloud in false colors
The Basler blaze camera offers the option of generating 3D data either as a range map or as a point cloud. Each point cloud contains precise 3D coordinates (x, y, z) for each sensor pixel. To make analysis and interpretation user-friendly, the points are often visualized using rainbow spectrum colour coding.

3D point cloud in RGB colors
By merging the depth values of the Basler blaze camera with the supplementary color values of an RGB camera, it is possible to display point clouds in their authentic colors. This technique helps to compensate for missing depth information, enables additional classifications based on object colors and facilitates the understanding of the scenery.
